News & Events
JABA annually sponsors and coordinates the Independence Day "Freedom Festival" in downtown Jefferson, the Halloween Trick-or-Treat Walk, and, for the first time in 2005, the annual Jefferson Christmas Parade. As part of sponsoring the Halloween Walk, prizes are awarded to "best decorated" businesses. And, for the Christmas Parade, JABA provides the prize money for the winning floats in addition to coordinating the event in conjunction with other Jefferson-based organizations.
Since 1996, JABA has also donated funds to projects such as Leap Into Literacy, the Angel Tree Project coordinated by Regions Bank, Family Connection's Holiday Connection Christmas Store, and to other charitable organizations during the Christmas season in support of area families.
Our most recent event was the City of Jefferson Christmas Parade on December 1, 2007.
The next event we will participate in is the annual Leap into Literacy spelling bee on February 12, 2008. KABA's team won this event in 2006!! Come support the JABA team! Watch your Mainstreet News newspapers for more information.
